Fire damage can be especially devastating to a residential or commercial property and the subsequent restoration required can be extremely complex. A property will likely suffer from not only fire and smoke damage, but also widespread water damage and flooding from firefighting efforts.

The first 24 to 48 hours after fire damage are the “golden hours” of recovery. An effective emergency response that quickly stabilises the facility are paramount to minimise the impact of the fire damage on property as much as possible. The acidic soot and smoke damage that is often produced when fires are extinguished accelerates the deterioration and corrosion of building components and vital assets. To compound the problem, fires are most frequently extinguished with dry chemicals or water.

Our highly trained technicians aim to be on site within 24 hours when called out to a fire damage site. They have all the necessary skills and equipment required to clean the site, neutralise and deodorise toxic smoke odours and undertake water restoration work as quickly as possible after the fire damage first occurs. In addition to cleaning the building itself, our technicians can evaluate and, where possible, restore contents and deep-clean soot from upholstery and carpets.

Storm damage to residential and commercial property can often occur during periods of violent winds, a torrential downpour, hail stones or heavy snow and freezing temperatures.

Mother Nature's powerful weather patterns most commonly leave behind substantial storm damage to roofs caused by slipped tiles, twisted lead flashing and fallen trees. When roofs or windows are affected, a building and its contents can be left exposed and vulnerable to secondary damage such as water damage and mildew.

Our experienced storm damage restoration teams are on hand to undertake the work required to ensure your property’s safety and prevent further damage without delay. In addition to weatherproofing, tree removal, structural supporting and boarding up, they are fully equipped to provide temporary power and heating if necessary too.

We also offer full storm damage repair and storm damage restoration services.

Subsidence most commonly occurs when clay soil under the foundations dries up and shrinks, frequently due to moisture extraction by the roots of nearby trees. This type of subsidence typically occurs in the summer following hot, dry weather. The second most common cause is a leakage from underground pipes washing away or softening the soil beneath the foundations. Another less common form of ground movement is heave, which occurs when the ground swells – often due to increased moisture levels in clay soil after the removal of trees.

In many cases, subsidence damage can be repaired relatively easily and effectively without foundation work. This is usually the case when the underlying cause has been resolved, for example by removing a tree or repairing a leaking pipe. It is only in a small number of cases when the cause cannot be removed or resolved that foundation work becomes necessary.

Typical signs of damage caused by subsidence include cracks in walls and ceilings that spread diagonally, door and window frames becoming wider at the top than the bottom and bowed walls. Our specialist subsidence surveyors can assess the structural soundness of a property suffering from subsidence to determine the most appropriate work required to strengthen the property, if needed, and repair damaged brickwork and concrete.

Our dedicated teams are well experienced in repairing cracked or misaligned drains, removing or pruning problematic trees and roots, and underpinning to prevent further subsidence problems.
